Hydrofil fabric, also called baby cotton or muslin, is lovely soft, fluid and highly absorbent. This old rose variant is easy to work with and especially popular for baby clothes, wraps and cot bedding. The open weave means you can skip ironing.

Hydrofil fabric, also called baby cotton or muslin, is a lovely soft, fluid and highly absorbent material that’s perfect for projects where comfort comes first. The fabric absorbs moisture quickly, making it ideal for anything worn close to skin, especially for babies and young children.
Hydrofil is known for its airy, open weave structure that gives the fabric its characteristic softness and graceful drape. Because of this structure, you don’t need to iron it, which makes handling and washing much simpler. Keep in mind that hydrofil shrinks slightly more than average cotton during washing, so pre-wash the fabric before you start sewing.
