Hydrophil fabric, also known as baby cotton or muslin, is a wonderfully soft, supple and moisture-absorbing material that’s ideal for babies and young children. Its open, woven structure allows the fabric to absorb moisture quickly, making it especially suitable for anything that touches sensitive baby skin.
Hydrophil is renowned for its light, airy drape and fine, loose weave structure that makes the fabric so pleasantly soft. Thanks to this structure, you don’t need to iron the fabric after washing, which is a handy practical benefit. Do bear in mind that this fabric shrinks more on the first wash than other fabrics, so account for this when cutting.
Applications
- Muslin cloths and wraps for babies
- Baby clothes such as rompers, bibs and pyjamas
- Crib bedding and bed borders
- Hydrophil nappies and reusable cloths
